Experience a new generation of exciting choreographers from the National School of the Arts in “Dance Celebration Behind the Mask”.
This annual showcase of work from the Grade 11 and 12 dancers is a highlight on the school’s performance calendar.
Significantly titled “Dance Celebration – Behind the Mask”, this is the first unmasked Dance Celebration since 2019.
If one lifts the mask, one can see the eyes and the non-verbal facial expressions, revealing a deeper understanding and connection – once the mask is raised, there is no hiding the truth.
The 32 vibrant and diverse pieces feature dancers from across the grades and will be lit by award-winning lighting designer Wilhelm Disbergen Audiences can expect a stunning display of originality. With titles like Brain, My Throne, Madness, Not Yet and Follow the Light, these new works provide an exciting and revealing window into what stirs young creatives when they are given an unrestricted palette to create.
