School of Specialisation in Performing and Creative Arts
The National School of Arts (NSA) in Johannesburg, has for over 50 years, been serving the advancement of artistically gifted learners from across South Africa.
The NSA is recognised as a pioneer in the field of specialised education. The curriculum ensures that Learners can excel artistically and academically, which is reflected in the consistently good academic results and the achievements of the NSA alumni.
The National School of the Arts is a Gauteng Department of Education (GDE)
SCHOOL OF SPECIALISATION IN PERFORMING & CREATIVE ARTS
that follows the CAPS curriculum.
NSA learners are known to excel. Academically. Creatively.
Talent and a good academic report are the criteria for admission to the NSA. Prospective learners must pass an audition in either Art, Dance, Drama, or Music to secure a place.
Day Scholars & Boarders
Situated on the crest of the Braamfontein Ridge in a precinct known for education, arts, and culture, and a short walk from the main transport hubs and WITS University, the school attracts day scholars from the greater Johannesburg area and boarders from across the county and SADC region.
An on-site hostel offers single-room accommodation in separate buildings for boys and girls.
Learners receive nine hours of specialised arts tuition a week in their chosen subject.
