The successful applicant will need to be available from the 1st of September until the appointment of a permanent educator is finalised.
The minimum qualification required is a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Design or Visual Arts, or any relevant REQV13 qualification and preferably a PGCE.
The candidate should be familiar with the CAPS syllabus and understand the objectives and vision of a School of Specialisation.
Previous experience in teaching Visual Arts, Design and creative arts is essential. Knowledge and competency in Photoshop, CorelDraw and animation, Printmaking, Painting and Sculpture will be an advantage.
All shortlisted candidates will be required to present their own Design/Art portfolio during their interview. Evidence of the work of learners they have taught or are currently teaching will be useful.
The successful candidate should be a good team player, willing to work outside regular school hours when necessary and be an enthusiastic participant in the school’s cultural programme. Passion, patience, and an ability to motivate and inspire, alongside a firm grip on discipline, will see the incumbent thriving in the specialist art school environment.
